About Assessment Check

A local homeowner and data professional built this to help neighbors understand confusing public assessment data before deciding whether to appeal.

A note from the founder

When my own assessment notice arrived, I went looking for answers—and couldn’t find them. So I built AssessmentCheck.

I have spent more than 20 years as a data professional, taking messy, complicated public information and turning it into something regular people can actually understand. So when my own Cobb County assessment notice arrived, I did what I always do. I went looking for the numbers.

Everything in this report comes from official Cobb County public records. My job is simply to organize the information into something homeowners can actually understand.

What I found was frustrating. The information is public, but it is buried, written for insiders, and nearly impossible to compare against the homes around you. I kept thinking about my neighbors going through the same thing with no simple way to tell whether their number looked fair.

My goal is simple: help homeowners understand whether their assessment is fair before they decide whether to appeal.

No jargon. No pressure. No promise of a magic outcome. Just a clear, honest comparison built entirely from public county data.

Two decades turning complicated data into clear, reliable answers. I brought that same discipline to property assessments.

No Sales Pressure

I don't file appeals or promise savings. The goal is simply to help you see where your assessment stands before you decide.
